Modern aircraft and helicopters fly within the range of lethal threats on almost every operational mission. The high mobility and lethality of these threats dictates new training techniques for achieving the highest level of combat readiness.
Current EW training lacks the realistic aspects of operational flight. Most crucially, they lack the flexibility to modify the mission scenario easily, which is critical for realistic training.
BVR's In-Flight Electronic Warfare Simulator (IFEWS) is a complete, autonomous, on-board threat-environment training and safety suite, capable of simulating the EW suite and virtual threats range.
The IFEWS on-board simulation system maintains a virtual range of ground, naval and airborne threats.
During flight, the virtual and the real threats are presented to the pilot through the real or simulated EW suite. Threats are placed on the terrain and behave according to smart doctrines and aircraft actions (manoeuvre, decoys dispensing etc.)
The IFEWS standard package consists of the IFEWS airborne unit and the IFEWS PC ground station, enhancing the training cycle with powerful exercise preparation, planning and debriefing capabilities.
IFEWS is operational in leading Air-forces and improves the pilots operational skills while reducing significantly the EW training costs.
