Minimal Intrusive Integration
In order to easily embed additional capabilities into existing airborne platforms, BVR has developed the Minimal Intrusive Integration (MII) approach, allowing fast, low-risk and low-cost integration.
The MII is a unit that can be added to any data bus to separate between the current bus and the Remote Terminals (RTs). The MII unit will now control the RTs operation as a new Bus Controller (BC), without changing the existing bus operation system.
The way MII works:
- The MII monitors the bus for messages addressed to one of the RTs connected to it.
- When the MII recognizes a message for one of the RTs, it analyzes the command word and proceeds in accordance with the command word type, its destination and the message data.
- The MII can respond to the BC as any one of the RTs connected to it, as described in the BUS protocol.
- The MII replicates the BC for the RTs connected to it. The RTs will receive the command message and will respond to it.
